Legon Interdenominational Church Begins 12-Week Leadership Journey with ILF Ghana

Accra, 24 September 2026

The Legon Interdenominational Church (LIC) has started a 12-week leadership capacity building programme in partnership with the International Leadership Foundation Ghana (ILF Ghana).

Prof. (Mrs.) Ibok N. Oduro presents a session on Calling (Heart-Centred Leadership)
Prof. (Mrs.) Ibok N. Oduro facilitates a session on Calling (Heart-Centred Leadership) during the programme.

The programme began on 15 September 2026. It brings together the church’s elders, members of its Governing Council and other leadership groups.

Participants are working through the ILF 12Cs Leadership Framework, which looks at the personal qualities, skills and relationships that effective leadership needs. The programme follows the ILF Transforming Leadership Journey, which covers five areas of leadership practice: building community (at the centre), setting direction, building capacity, leading change and empowering leaders.

Building community sits at the centre of the journey, and each of the other areas grows from it. The journey is designed as a continuous cycle: as leaders empower others, those new leaders carry the process forward in their own spheres of influence.

The programme is delivered by a facilitation team from Ghana, the United States, Kenya and Jamaica. This gives participants a range of leadership experience from different countries, applied to the realities of church governance and ministry in Ghana.

“Look inwards and seek your purpose and when you’ve found it, you will wake up with a jump, walk with a bounce and give the world a stamp.”Marian Nkansah, programme facilitator

The programme is scheduled to end on 1 December 2026. ILF Ghana will share further updates as the journey progresses.
